Text message alerts

What we send

Three kinds of message: reminders that the pantry is open, notices when our hours change or a distribution is cancelled, and — on the day you visit — a text letting you know your turn is coming up, so you can wait comfortably instead of standing in line. That is all. We never send marketing, fundraising, or political messages.

Example messages

VCKC Food Pantry: We are open tomorrow (Tue) 10:00am–12:00pm at Vineyard Church Kansas City. Reply STOP to stop.

VCKC Food Pantry: This week's distribution is cancelled due to weather. Next open Tue Aug 5, 10:00am–12:00pm. Reply STOP to stop.

VCKC Food Pantry: You are next in line — number 14. Please come to the pantry entrance now. Reply STOP to stop.

How often

Message frequency varies. Generally no more than a few messages per month, plus one or two on a day you visit the pantry to tell you your turn is near. Message and data rates may apply.

Text message terms

By opting in you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from VCKC Food Pantry Alerts: pantry day reminders, closure notices, and a notice when it is your turn.

Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of receiving food or any other service from the pantry.

How to stop

You can leave at any time, at no cost:

• STOP — Text STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting you immediately.
• START — Text START if you later want to receive messages again.
• HELP — Text HELP for help and our contact information.

Your privacy

We use your phone number only to recognize you when you return to the pantry and to send the messages described above. We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number. Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
